A short history of the establishment....

The World Famous Golden Nugget was born on Feb 6th 1964 as the Bird Cage on the 2600 block north of 1st Ave in Tucson. Just six months later she became the Golden Nugget and two years later was moved to the current location at 2617 N 1st Ave. The Kientz's bought the bar in 1977 and in 1981 hired Tim Donaldson. Now, 28 years later Tim entered into partnership with the Kientzs.
